Welcome to the Municipal Executives Association (MEA) Website

The Municipal Executives Association has been active in San Francisco government for over 50 years. We were incorporated in 1943, and have been recognized by the City as the official representative of management employees since 1993.

Our mission is:

  • To develop and foster professional management skills among persons holding management positions with the government agencies of the City and County of San Francisco.

Our goals are:

  • To exchange information and ideas among persons holding these management positions in order to improve the operations of the City and County;

  • represent our members in employment relationships;

  • recognize persons whose classification qualifies them for membership;

  • act as an advocate for management in employment issues with the City and County and the public; and

  • cultivate professional and social relationships among members of the Association.

  • We encourage all persons in classifications represented by MEA who have responsibilities within City government to apply for membership.

In this Website you will find information about the Association, lists of the classifications we represent, information on the training programs we sponsor, and news of issues which are current and important to our members.

We appreciate your interest in our organization and encourage your participation so that the Association will remain supportive of you and of manager’s needs.
